No7 Review

So I've been meaning to do this for a while.
I've started buying quite a few bits from the boots No7 Collection.
It all started with their foundation match service...
I'm AWFUL when it comes to make-up, I have no idea what suits me or what is good for my skin or just plain anything make-up related! So last February for Valentines, the fella took me to boots and told me to get what I wanted. I needed a new foundation so he took me to the No7 stand and suggested I get the foundation match (it's terrible when your fella's more clued up on make-up than you are...meterosexual I believe this is called! Ha!).
So since Feb I've been through a few bottles of foundation which is quite the achievement for me as I never used to wear make-up but now I wear it most days!
This is my current No7 collection (Minus my No7 Nail polish)

I'll start with the nail polish:
I got a lovely colour red called "Salsa". However, I was not impressed. You need about 4 coats to get the colour to stand out, so I haven't bought another nail polish from their collection.

Next up:
Foundation...I bought a foundation brush too...I'd never used one before but the lady in boots used one on me so I couldn't not get one!
So, along we went and got my colour matched...turns out I'm the lightest shade they do (Just about..my match came back at a 2 (3 is the best match) but they didn't have a lighter shade!)
I'm just so pale it's terrible!!
My foundation of choice was essentially natural foundation "Calico". It's a liquid foundation and I love love love it!
It blends great (no foundation lines on my chinny chin chin!) the cover is great and it goes along way.
I would definitely recommend the colour match service and the foundation as they are just great and the staff are so friendly and helpful (at least they are in my local boots!).

Now on to powder:
I'd never really used powder, I didn't know it was a sort of setting agent for foundation, but now I do use it I can see the difference of using foundation on it's own and with powder.
I opted for a translucent pressed powder - IMO there's nothing worse than someone who uses a powder that's about 10 shades darker than their foundation (or foundation 10 shades darker than their skin tone) as it looks like they've fallen into a bucket of orange paint! Not a fantastic look!

I went back to get another bottle of foundation in about June, and they had an offer on No7 items, I can't remember exactly what it entailed but the end result was a free make-up bag including an eyeshadow, mascara and lipstick.

This is the eyeshadow, it's a purple colour, I've no idea what name it has! BUT I've been told purple really compliments green eyes, and whenever I wear this eyeshadow I have comments about how green my eyes look! So it obviously works.
I really like this eyeshadow, it stays on all day and isn't too dark or vibrant which is perfect for me as I like subtle colours.
I also have a purple eyeliner (metallic eyes pencil) the two together really brings out the green in my eyes. I really like the eyeliner, however, I'm a bit wary about what I wear it with as I had a bit of a reaction once. I've worn the eyeliner with this eyeshadow a few times and had no problem, I'd worn the other eyeshadow (unknown brand) with other eyeliners, but when I put the 2 on together my eyes started burning and I couldn't open them! It was a scary time and I freaked out a little, I can't explain the pain!!
So now I know, only use No7 with No7!! I think it may have been the unbranded eyeshadow that was more the issue but like I said I can use that seperately.
I also have the metallic eyeliner in a teal/green colour, which is really cute with silver/grey eyeshadow.
The free mascara is good too...the brush on it allows a nice spread of colour making your lashes look lovely and long, and also seperates them, so the individual lashes get a nice coat and your eyelashes look lovely, dark and full.

And finally...we have lipsticks!

The Mulberry lipstick was free with the above mentioned make-up bag. I bought the Iced Pink myself, much to my regret!
I'll start with mulberry:
This is my favourite lipstick EVER, after it's been on for a while it looks more like a stain than a lipstick. The pictures don't give it justice as it's a beautiful colour, it's a reddy/brown and as mentioned before I like subtle colours, which this most certainly is!

Iced Pink: It's a nice colour when you first put it on but after a while it gathers in the middle of your lip and makes you look like a weirdo! Though I've been told by people that this type of colour from other brands does the same thing.

So to conclude,
No7 Foundation = YES
No7 Pressed Powder = YES
No7 Nail Polish = NO
No7 Mascara = YES
No7 Eyeshadow = YES
No7 Eyeliner = YES
No7 Lipstick = YES - Certain Colours!
